BIG RAY’S PRIVATE LABEL

Activ8 Kids’ Outerwear

Known for its rugged performance in harsh Alaskan winters, this locally-loved brand needed an update that could speak to a new generation of families—blending durability with a sense of fun, energy, and regional character. The goal was to create a brand system that felt playful yet practical, and could grow with the evolving product line.

Winterwear for Kids

A fresh look for a beloved Alaskan kids’ outerwear brand.

Activ8 is a private-label children’s outerwear line by Big Ray’s, a trusted outfitter for generations of Alaskans. Erin Hamilton Design led a comprehensive rebrand to better reflect the brand’s playful spirit and durable performance. The project included a redesigned logo, updated typography, and a refreshed color palette—all crafted to feel bold, adventurous, and kid-friendly.

A custom illustrated woodland animal pattern adds personality and a sense of place, drawing from Alaska’s wild landscapes. Supporting brand elements included hangtags, garment patches, and packaging for a new line of fleece base layers. A full brand guidelines system ensures consistency across future product lines and marketing efforts.

The result is a cohesive, character-driven identity that connects with both kids and parents — one that brings warmth, fun, and functional design to life in the great outdoors.
